Our Monitoring & Evaluation (“M&E”) Framework was implemented in 2019 as a way of assessing the performance of our projects and programmes, and to evaluate their long-term impacts. It remains our aim to use these tools to measure the impact of our work and to identify emerging trends which may require further actions or changes in our approach.

The tools that we use to measure our impact in the 4 keys areas of Survival, Protection, Development and Participation are as follows:

  1. A self-assessment survey completed by all girls and staff members

  2. Development reports from our programme providers

  3. Health reports from medical professionals

  4. Comprehensive infrastructure checklist completed by key staff members.

Due to the global pandemic and other related factors, our annual M&E assessment was postponed to focus on the essential requirements. We have also had to work with limited data in some cases. Nevertheless we felt that it was important that we completed an assessment for 2020 – 2021 so that we could continue to track our progress over time, and to identify areas for improvement. As expected, there are a number of actions which have been identified as part of this process. Some of these were already in our plans, but a few were new issues. All of the actions will be monitored and tracked on an ongoing basis, and we will report on our progress in our next M&E report for 2021- 2022 which will be completed over the coming months.

Despite all of the challenges, the girls have remained happy and healthy at Baale Mane, and are progressing well on their journey to self-sustaining adult lives.  We would like to thank all of the girls, the team and our programme providers for their help in completing the M&E report.

Thanks also to all of our supporters. Without you, none of the work we do would be possible.
