Volunteer

We do have a need for volunteers who live in the local area, and from time to time have opportunities for international volunteers. However, there are a few general principles that we need to apply.

• As we are a girls’ home, and to comply with local regulation, we can only accommodate residential volunteers who are female.
• We generally look for help which is offered on a sustained and sustainable basis. For local volunteers, this means a commitment over time, and for international volunteers this generally means a stay of at least four weeks and preferably longer. Residential support, is generally of more value during the school holidays.
• We particularly welcome volunteers who have a skill or expertise that will be of value to our girls.
• We have a core belief that giving has to be for the benefit of the recipient and encourage all our supporters to ask the question, ‘so in what way will my commitment be of benefit to the girls?’ If this question is in the forefront of your mind, we would love to hear from you.
