We have a number of different schemes for supporting our home, tailored to the needs and interests of our supporters. Please choose the one that best matches your interest. Giving can be in cash or in kind or you may choose to undertake an adventure or a project to raise money to support us.
GIVING IN KIND AND FUNDRAISING SCHEMES
Volunteer Scheme
Volunteering with us can be a life-changing experience and something useful for your personal skills and career.
We have opportunities for occasional assistance for local volunteers and for short and long term assignments for international volunteers.
Support in kind
This option may be of particular interest to our supporters in India. Our home operates on a very low budget and our girls place enormous value on the few material possessions that they have. As we develop the infrastructure of the Baale we are also planning to make the campus a model for sustainability, using solar heating and lighting amongst other environmentally friendly technologies, and we would value any support to make this vision a reality.
In the past we have received help with dress materials, school books, school bags, toiletries, mattresses and blankets as well as offers of free medical care, computers and paint.
Adventure fundraising Scheme
Do you have a particular talent, or a challenge that you want to undertake? If you think that we might be a worthwhile cause that you would like to fund raise for in pursuit of your talent, then the scheme may be for you. In the past, our supporters have climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, sailed across the Atlantic, organised Christmas fairs and auctions of promises and even made their own jewellery for sale to support us.

SPECIFIC FUNDS TO WHICH DONATIONS CAN BE ALLOCATED
Providing a place for a girl at the Baale Mane
There are currently 52 girls at The Baale Mane and it costs on average RS37,000 or £500 in operating costs to keep each girl for a year at out current level of expenditure. To help us achieve our goal of doubling this level of expenditure we are offering the opportunity to donors to provide a place for a girl at the Baale. These places are available to donors willing to contribute at least RS3750 (£50) per month and can offer the opportunity for donors to attach their funding to the progress of a particular girl if this suits the donor's requirements.
The Operating fund
Our current operating costs are as little as RS2500 (£35) per day, but this is not enough. We keep costs this low by involving the girls heavily in their own welfare and by engaging the support of volunteers. We have immediate needs that will increase the costs to RS4200 (£60), primarily involving the recruitment of additional staff. We are seeking regular donors to cover a day’s operating costs. A donation of as little as RS35 or £5 per month will cover a day’s operating cost: RS420 or £60 per month will allow you to cover costs for a day each month, and enable you to choose your date.
If you wish your donation to be allocated to one of our funds outlined above and are paying on line, of for further information about the place scheme please contact Chris Harrison, the Chairman of The Friends of Baale Mane Gopalapura
